Straight from the underground vaults of Paris, Jan Melnick is the founder of the parisian collective La Fête Triste, which regularly offers enthusiasts of cold-wave, new wave, EBM, industrial and other forms of dark but emotionally rich electronic music the chance to enjoy live and DJ sets from cult artists and underground activists in several clubs in the city as well as in intimate, alternative settings in suburban warehouses. The collective launched less than two years ago is already a household name in the cities’ underground scene.
A veteran DJ that cut his teeth in the early 90s, Jan is a music digger in the truest sense of the word. With an abundant knowledge of dark and punishing music, Jan is influenced by the rough industrial sound of the '80s, the unpredictable obscure new wave, the left-field and experimental side of the music.
The Attic Podcast 24 is a 90 minutes live mixed session, comprising early new wave finds, old school techno, acid house, industrial and more.
