'Inner-Attunement', a film about the musical brotherhood of bassist William Parker and drummer/percussionist Hamid Drake, is currently fundraising on Kickstarter.
Known worldwide as of one of the premier rhythm sections of jazz, William Parker and Hamid Drake discuss their musical kinship and the shamanistic sound ceremonies they deploy worldwide. 'Inner-Attunement' is a comprehensive look into their music, which becomes a conversation about the substantial lessons we learn in life.
The ‘staff picked’ project is raising $11,000 on Kickstarter to complete post-production after a successful sneak preview at the Anthology Archives during the 20th Vision Festival in NYC. The funding deadline is Saturday, November 28, 2015. The final film is available for a $50 contribution to the campaign and several other rewards include original art, photography and exclusive concert films and recordings.
The fundamental message of the film is to inspire us to live up to our highest human potential, regardless of the endeavor. It’s a message that transcends the music - and is something meaningful that we can all take away from the film.
